Purpose
The purpose of Missions Awareness South Africa (M.A.S.A) is to provide an opportunity for young adults to be involved in an evangelistic outreach in the developing world. Those participating will work closely with missionaries on the field and join in cross cultural evangelism. Participants will also enjoy the privilege of working with African believers as we together share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost. Various forms of evangelism will be utilized such as evangelistic meetings in the gospel tent, literature distribution; sports outreach and prison ministries to name a few. Following the weeks of outreach there will also be time for some travel and sightseeing along the world famous Garden Route of the Western cape.
Who can come?Although the main focus of MASA is to encourage younger adults both men and women (ages18-35), we would also welcome the help of those who are older. Those participating in Missions Awareness South Africa must be in fellowship in a local assembly and come with a letter of commendation signed by their elders.
What will we be doing? During the first two weeks most days will be filled with various forms of evangelism. There will be a devotional time each morning conducted Sandy McEachern from ON Canada. Each afternoon there will be a few hours of free time. In the evening before the tent meeting the team will visit the area of the tent with literature and invitations. Sisters will be involved in personal evangelism, literature distribution, childrens' work etc. They would participate in most aspects of the work with the exception of preaching in the tent.
